About the Fate of the Bella 1/Marinera Tanker

The story with the (formerly Bella 1) has unfortunately reached its conclusion. About an hour ago, the Americans captured the vessel in the North Atlantic, landing a boarding group on the ship from a helicopter. According to the latest data, Marinera has been arrested.

🔻How Did the Operation Proceed?

▪️Over the past few days, the Americans established round-the-clock surveillance of the tanker's movements using P-8A aircraft from airbases in Keflavik (Iceland) and Mildenhall (United Kingdom).

▪️At least 3 P-8A flights were recorded daily. Additionally, a British RC-135W was spotted in the tanker's movement area yesterday. The day before, a French Atlantique 2 patrol aircraft and an Irish C-295 were used for patrolling.

▪️This morning, an RC-135W was sent to the tanker's location, a P-8A had been working from Iceland since night, and then another one flew, patrolling near Iceland's shores.

▪️At noon Moscow time, another P-8A from the UK Air Force and a Shadow R1 reconnaissance aircraft took off.

▪️Around 3 PM, American troops began a boarding operation to capture the vessel by helicopter. Two C-130J aircraft, three special U.S. Special Operations U-28A aircraft, another U.S. Navy P-8A, and a British A-400 transport aircraft also took off from the UK.

▪️Currently, there is a truly enormous amount of aircraft of various types in the area between Iceland, the Faroe Islands, and Great Britain, ranging from reconnaissance to special operations aircraft.

🖍The vessel's capture has already been confirmed by U.S. European Command. Moreover, the sheer number of resources deployed to catch the tanker suggests that the chances of escaping unscathed were extremely low.

🚩Media reports suggested that Russian Navy ships and a submarine were present during the vessel's capture and allegedly did nothing. In reality, our fleet did not have time to provide assistance (approximately a day short).

❗️Despite the tanker being connected to Iran (through the shipowner's company) and apparently intended to transport oil for them, the decision to change the flag to Russian has put Russia in an extremely uncomfortable position.

Because it turns out that a Russian tanker was essentially captured under a fabricated pretext. This creates a precedent for further operations against Russia's entire so-called "shadow fleet" not only in the Atlantic but in other regions of the world.

🇫🇮 Finland has seized the vessel Fitburg, allegedly linked to Russia’s “shadow fleet”.

On January 3, Finnish authorities released footage of the boarding operation.

🚁 Helicopters landed on the ship’s deck, after which the vessel and its crew were taken under control.

The ship was stopped in the Gulf of Finland on December 31, 2025, following the discovery of damage to underwater telecommunications cables between Finland and Estonia.

👥 Fourteen crew members of the vessel, which was towed to the port of Kantvik, were detained for questioning.
