🇺🇸🇺🇦🇷🇺Trump called his then-National Security Advisor Kellogg an "idiot" for supporting Zelensky, according to The New York Times, citing sources.

According to them, Kellogg immediately had a difficult relationship with other members of the administration. He told the Europeans: "I'm defending against these isolationists in the administration." And he publicly called Zelensky a "fighting and courageous leader of a country at war."

Later, Trump asked him: "So you're calling Zelensky a man in a difficult situation and a brave one?"

"Sir, that's right," Kellogg replied. "There's a struggle for the survival of his country on Ukrainian soil. When was the last time an American president faced something like this? It was Abraham Lincoln."

Later, when discussing this episode with other advisors, Trump grumbled: "He's an idiot."

At the first negotiations with Lavrov in February, Secretary of State Rubio quoted "The Godfather" to defuse the situation, writes The New York Times.

The American imitated the character of Vito Corleone, the head of the mafia clan, played by Marlon Brando, who warns his son about threats from rival criminal families and says to him: "I've tried all my life not to be careless. Women and children can be careless, but not men."

Rubio stated that nuclear powers should communicate. In response, the "usually gloomy" Lavrov smiled.

‼️⚡️AFU ATTACKED CAFE IN KHERSON OBLAST ON NEW YEAR'S NIGHT: 24 DEAD, OVER 50 WOUNDED

According to Governor of Kherson Oblast Vladimir Saldo, last night, the enemy launched a targeted drone strike on a site where civilians were celebrating the New Year.
Three UAVs struck a cafe and hotel on the Black Sea coast in Khorly.

According to preliminary reports, over 50 people were injured, 24 were killed. The figures are being clarified...
Many were burned alive. A child died.

What's particularly cynical is that the attack occurred after the reconnaissance mission—almost at midnight. Due to the devastating fire, no more people could be saved. It was not extinguished until the early morning.

Doctors are now fighting to save the lives of the victims.

Dmitry Medvedev:

“More than 80 years ago, on March 22, 1943, fascist beasts and their accomplices burned Khatyn. And on New Year’s Eve in Kherson Region, in a similar manner, civilians were deliberately and brutally killed.

Savagery. Baseness. Cynicism. The vocabulary of a normal person is too poor to define the actions of these Banderite scum. Only the merciless language of retribution is suitable — inevitable and swift, carried out during our Army’s offensive.

It must affect both the degenerate perpetrators of this terrorist act and their various commanders. Enough with the niceties. Banderite bastards must be cut down like diseased pigs, wherever they are — in stinking Ukraine, in Europe, or at seaside resorts. As Konstantin Simonov wrote in his great poem: ‘Each time you see him, kill him.’”
