💢On April 9, at the initiative of the Iranian side, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Lavrov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran A. Araqchi.
The Russian side welcomed the announcement of an agreement on a two-week cessation of hostilities between the USA and Iran and the accession of Israel to these agreements.
As was emphasized, Moscow firmly believes that the aforementioned agreements, as announced by Pakistani mediators, have a regional dimension and, in particular, apply to Lebanon.
Lavrov expressed hope for the success of the negotiation process and confirmed Russia's readiness to assist in finding solutions that will allow to overcome the consequences of the unprovoked American-Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran and ensure long-term peace and sustainable security in the region.
A. Araqchi thanked the Russian Federation for its principled position in the UN Security Council when discussing the situation in the Persian Gulf.
