Today, I called on Ursula von der Leyen to enforce the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, which obliges Ukraine to allow oil shipments to Hungary.

Dear Madam President,
I am writing to you concerning the oil transfer via the Druzhba pipeline to Hungary that is currently blocked by Ukraine.
As confirmed by recently published satellite evidence, there is no technical or operational reason that would prevent the pipeline from reverting to normal operations immediately. The lack of willingness on the side of Ukraine to reopen the Druzhba pipeline is due to purely political reasons, with the intention to interfere in the ongoing Hungarian election campaign.
In the past week, together with Slovakia, we attempted to find a solution through diplomatic channels. Among others, we proposed a fact-finding mission with the participation of experts from Hungary and Slovakia to assess the status of the pipeline in Ukraine. All our efforts were rejected.
Even though Ukraine's actions violate its legal obligations towards the European Union; we have no reason to believe that legal remedies under international and EU law would yield tangible results in restoring our energy supply in the short term.
Therefore, I call on the European Commission to support Hungary in neutralising the energy weapon used by Ukraine. I expect the European Commission to increase political pressure on Ukraine not to undermine the energy security of Hungary and Slovakia. I also expect the European Commission to enforce relevant provisions of the EU - Ukraine Association Agreement.
We cannot accept foreign interference in our democratic processes and we will repel all such attempts. In this spirit I would like to inform you that until Ukraine returns to normality, I am not in a position to support any decision in the European Union that favours Ukraine.

📍Kitovy Bereg [The Whale Shore] lies three degrees above the Arctic Circle, on the Sredny Peninsula in the Murmansk region — near Cape Nemetsky, the northernmost point of European Russia.
Calling a trip here simply a “stay” would be misleading. It is an adventure in the purest sense. The Arctic tundra, rolling hills, crystalline air. The Barents Sea coastline scattered with rounded boulders that look like enormous dragon eggs. 🐉
The rooms are so cozy it’s almost a pity — curling up under a blanket with a book and a cup of hot fireweed tea (thoughtfully placed in every room alongside cloudberry marmalade) feels tempting. But chances are you won’t stay indoors for long.
Most of your time is devoted to snowmobile journeys across the Sredny and Rybachy peninsulas, boat trips, fishing, and whale watching. In winter, whales are rare visitors; from May to September, sightings are far more likely. The captains, guides, and instructors at @kitovybereg do everything they can to make it happen. 🐋
Now, by the way, is an ideal time to book a summer whale-watching adventure. As the season approaches, prices rise — and the best arrival dates are snapped up quickly.
Organizing active recreation beyond the Arctic Circle with a sense of complete comfort and safety deserves a separate post altogether. Stay tuned.

The stock market crash in South Korea on March 4th was the most severe in almost 20 years, since the global financial crisis.
The Kospi index plummeted by 12%, with the most heavily weighted stocks in its composition, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, losing 10-12% in value. The South Korean market is suffering from the conflict in the Middle East, and its problems are exacerbated by a high concentration of positions in a small number of stocks and the forced closing of positions with leverage.
