Official Statement on the Safety of Health Professionals in Ethiopia
EMSA Ethiopia is deeply concerned about the safety of health professionals following the tragic killing of Dr. Andualem Dagne. This loss highlights the growing threats medical personnel face amid ongoing unrest.
Doctors, nurses, and medical students remain vulnerable, jeopardizing both their well-being and the future of Ethiopia’s healthcare system. Immediate action is needed to ensure their protection and uphold quality healthcare services.
EMSA Ethiopia stands in solidarity with all health professionals and calls for urgent intervention. Protect those who heal others, before it’s too late.

Our Executive Board members actively contributed to the event, with three of them serving on the Scientific Committee 🧑⚕️📖 and facilitating panel discussions. Additionally, our SCOPH National Officer took part in a panel discussion, representing the voice of medical students in crucial healthcare conversations.
We also had EMSA members working on membership and registration 💼📝, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the event.
