Active Hurricane Season Predicted
Current predictions for the 2022 Hurricane Season call for '19' named storms (the average is 14.4), of which nine will be hurricanes. On top of these predictions, Nick Shay, an oceanography professor at the University of Miami posted an article today that a fueling current for monster Gulf of Mexico hurricanes called the Loop Current is looking a lot like it did in 2005 with Hurricane Katrina. He goes on to say the Gulf is already warmer than average for this time of year. Warm water strengthens hurricanes.
