HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says the FDA could not tell him how many ingredients and chemicals are in America’s food supply, estimating the number may be around 10,000. Kennedy warned that the food industry continues developing novel compounds and chemical combinations not found in nature, arguing that stronger science and transparent safety reviews are urgently needed as research increasingly examines links between ultra-processed foods, chronic inflammation and chronic disease.
