10 yr old cow and her calf went for 5,900$ this morning at auction. I don't know which auction, just know hubs was shocked AF over that.

No logical reason for a 10 yr old cow to go for that price, even WITH a calf.

Look into the costs of inputs. Everywhere else is up in costs, farmers and ranchers are going out of business because they can't continue business.

Plus the younger generation, many of them don't want to take over the farm or ranch when their parents get too old to do the job.

And no, I did not watch the whole video because this dude automatically starts in like the farmer or rancher is the one who determines the price of beef. That isn't true.

The bottle neck is the Big 4 packing plants, that's where the price is determined. 😏
