अट्टुकल पोंगाला (Attukal Pongala) केरल के तिरुवनंतपुरम में स्थित अट्टुकल भगवती मंदिर का प्रसिद्ध 10 दिवसीय त्योहार है, जिसे 'महिलाओं की सबरीमाला' कहा जाता है।

इसमें लाखों महिलाएं भाग लेती हैं, जो देवी को प्रसाद के रूप में चावल, गुड़ और नारियल से बना मीठा व्यंजन (पोंगाला) मिट्टी के बर्तनों में खुले में पकाती हैं।

तिरुवनंतपुरम के आट्टुकाल भगवती मंदिर में मनाया जाने वाला त्योहार आट्टुकाल पोंगाला किसी त्योहार के अवसर पर महिलाओं का दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा जमावड़ा है।

पोंगाला जिसका अर्थ है ‘अधिक उबालना’ एक रस्म है जिसमें महिलाएं मीठा खीर (चावल, गुड़, नारियल, और केले से बना मीठा व्यंजन(पायसम)) तैयार करती हैं देवी ‘भगवती’ को अर्पित करती हैं। यह अनुष्ठान केवल महिलाओं के द्वारा किया जा सकता है और इस त्योहार के दौरान सड़कें श्रद्धालु महिलाओं के जमावड़े से अवरुद्ध हो जाती हैं। देवी, जिन्हें श्रद्धा से लोग ‘आट्टुकालम्मा (आट्टुकाल अम्मा)’ कहते हैं इस अनुष्ठान से प्रसन्न होती हैं।

संपूर्ण तिरुवनंतपुरम शहर त्योहार के रंग में रंग जाता है और श्रद्धालुओं की भीड़ इस कदर हुई कि इसे गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड में दर्ज किया गया।

यह अनुभव बेहद अनोखा और अपूर्व होता है और इसकी गरिमा को महत्व को समझने के लिए आपको इसका प्रत्यक्ष हिस्सा बनकर देखना होगा।

Releasing List of Attacks on Hindu Festivals, VHP Warned — Do Not Force Hindus to Respond in the Same way

New Delhi, March 9, 2026: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has strongly condemned the mob lynching of Tarun Khatik, which it alleges was carried out by a group of attackers on the holy festival of Holi.

VHP Central Joint General Secretary Dr. Surendra Jain stated today that a seven-year-old girl had thrown a water balloon at her uncle during Holi celebrations, and a few drops reportedly fell on the clothes of a Muslim woman passing by. The woman’s relatives and other jihadists assaulted Tarun’s parents and uncle, and Tarun himself was brutally attacked with swords, stones, and sticks in a lane in Uttam Nagar area of the national capital Delhi, leading to his death.

He questioned whether the woman was unaware that Holi is a festival of colors where splashes may fall on anyone. He further alleges that the woman’s presence outside during Holi and the sudden appearance of a group of 25–30 armed attackers cannot be a coincidence. The woman, who is the key conspirator, has not yet been arrested and demands her immediate arrest and interrogation.

Across the country, attackers sometimes put women and minors at the forefront of such attacks, in order to avoid legal action, and he says such tactics must be stopped.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Dr. Jain stated that the attacks on Hindu festivals and processions are not isolated incidents. He claimed that during this year’s Holi alone, there were more than 11 attacks and that over the past 10 years more than 42 complaints of attacks during Holi have been recorded. He further alleged that in the last decade there have been more than 240 violent attacks during Hindu festivals, including cases where Hindus were surrounded and killed. A list of such incidents has is being herewith.

He further said that hostility towards Hindus is increasing and that the reaction of the Hindu community in Uttam Nagar reflects rising anger. He added that the community will not remain passive and will wait for legal action. He also referred to comments from the Madras High Court in the Ramaswamy Udayar case, suggesting that if one group obstructs the festivals or processions of another group, it must also consider how it would conduct its own religious events where it is in minority.

The VHP also issued a warning to leaders such as Asaduddin Owaisi and Maulana Arshad Madani, along with other radical leaders or their secular allies and said that they should not force the Hindu community to respond in the same manner.

The statement also criticized political leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, for allegedly remaining silent on Tarun’s killing. It claimed that like Tarun, many victims of such incidents come from Scheduled Caste communities and questioned why those who claim to support these communities remained silent.

The VHP welcomed what it described as swift action against some of the accused in the lynching but said that the action is still pending against several others, including the alleged main conspirator.

The organization demands:

1.Strict punishment for the accused and all conspirators, so that others would think many times before committing such acts.
2.Action against religious leaders accused of inciting violence, and it called for a ban on Madrasas, promotes extremism.
3.Formation of investigation commissions by the governments of Delhi and other states to examine the causes of increasing violence and hatred against Hindus and the reasons why perpetrators escaping punishment in most of the cases.

Dr Jain also said that the organization is committed to protect Hindu society and is prepared to take all constitutionally permissible steps to fulfil this goal.

नई दिल्ली। मार्च 11, 2026। विश्व हिंदू परिषद का त्रि-साप्ताहिक सांसद संपर्क अभियान 27 मार्च तक चलेगा। विहिप के केंद्रीय महामंत्री श्री बजरंग लाल बागड़ा ने आज एक प्रेस वार्ता में बताया कि इसी सोमवार यानि 9 मार्च को प्रारंभ हुए विशेष सांसद संपर्क अभियान के अंतर्गत हम देश के दोनों सदनों के सभी सांसदों से मिलकर तीन ज्वलंत विषयों पर चर्चा करेंगे।
उन्होंने कहा कि हालांकि हर शीतकालीन सत्र के दौरान सांसद संपर्क हमारी वार्षिक योजना का एक हिस्सा है किंतु, इस वर्ष उस सत्र की अवधि कम होने के कारण बजट सत्र में यह आयोजित किया गया है। इस वर्ष हम कुछ विशेष विषयों को लेकर देश के कानून निर्माताओं से निवेदन करेंगे।
उन्होंने कहा कि वर्तमान समय में जनसंख्या असंतुलन पर एक व्यापक राष्ट्रीय चिंतन की आवश्यकता है। पिछली अनेक सरकारों ने इस बारे में अपने-अपने तरीके से काम किया लेकिन अब आवश्यकता इस बात की है कि इसकी बारीकियों पर चिंतन कर एक प्रभावी जनसंख्या नीति बने और नारी सशक्तिकरण, स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं के विस्तार तथा क्षेत्रीय और सांप्रदायिक जनसंख्या संतुलन नीतियों जैसे माध्यमों के साथ जन मन की सहभागिता से यह कार्य आगे बढ़े।
भारत धर्म प्राण देश है, जिसकी आत्मा तीर्थों में बसती है और तीर्थ विकास के बिना भारत के विकास की कल्पना अधूरी है। तीर्थ यात्राओं का देश की अर्थव्यवस्था में उल्लेखनीय योगदान है। इसलिए, हम सभी सांसदों से निवेदन करेंगे कि देश के तीर्थक्षेत्रों का समुचित विकास हो और वे भारत की अर्थव्यवस्था, संस्कृति और स्वाभिमान के केंद्र बिंदु बनकर, पुनः धर्म, आध्यात्म और मानव कल्याण के वैश्विक प्रहरी बनें। मंदिरों को सरकारी नियंत्रण से मुक्ति मिले, हिंदू का पैसा हिंदू हित में काम आए तथा तीर्थाटन के विकास के लिए संस्कृति मंत्रालय में एक स्वतंत्र विभाग का गठन कर इनका चहुंमुखी विकास हो।
तीसरे विषय के रूप में हम संविधान के अनुच्छेद 29 और 30 के प्रावधानों को देश के सभी नागरिकों के लिए समान रूप से लागू करने के लिए उनसे निवेदन करेंगे। जिससे कि सभी धर्मों को धार्मिक शिक्षा का भेदभाव रहित सामान संवैधानिक अधिकार सुनिश्चित हो सके। साथ ही अल्पसंख्यक को परिभाषित करने की आवश्यकता को भी रेखांकित करेंगे।
विहिप महामंत्री ने बताया कि यह अभियान तीन चरणों में होगा।अलग-अलग चरणों में देश के अलग-अलग प्रांतों से आए हुए कार्यकर्ता अपने-अपने क्षेत्र के सांसदों से राजधानी दिल्ली में संपर्क कर रहे हैं। पहला चरण 9 से 13 मार्च तक होगा और दूसरा 16 से 20 मार्च तक। इसके बाद 23 मार्च से 27 मार्च तक इस अभियान का समापन सप्ताह होगा।
उन्होंने बताया कि हम बिना किसी राजनीतिक या विचार भेदभाव के हर दल के, हर मत पंथ संप्रदाय के और हर क्षेत्र के सांसद से मिलकर खुलकर अपनी बात उनके समक्ष रखेंगे।

VHP launches Sansad Sampark Abhiyan to meet MPs of both Houses of parliament to discuss key issues: Bajrang Bagra, Secretary General

New Delhi, March 11, 2026. The three-week long Sansad Sampark Abhiyan of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) will continue until March 27. The Secretary General VHP, Shri Bajrang Lal Bagra said in a press conference here today that under this special Campaign, already begun this Monday (March 9), we will meet all MPs of both Houses of Parliament and discuss three pressing issues of the country.

Although, this campaign is part of our annual plan during the Winter Session but, this year it is being organised during the Budget Session because the duration of the Winter Session was very short. This year we will place three specific issues before the country’s lawmakers.

Shri Bagra said that there is a need for a comprehensive national deliberation on population imbalance. Many previous governments have worked on this issue in their own ways, but now there is a need to carefully examine its finer aspects and formulate an effective National Population Policy. This work should move forward with public participation, along with measures such as women’s empowerment, expansion of healthcare services, and policies ensuring regional and community population balance. We will discuss the issue before them.

He further said that Bharat is a nation rooted in Dharma, whose soul resides in its pilgrimage centres, and the vision of its development remains incomplete without the development of these sacred places. Pilgrimages make a significant contribution to the country’s economy. Therefore, our team will request all MPs to ensure the proper development of pilgrimage centres so that they become focal points of the country’s economy, culture and self-respect, and once again emerge as global centres promoting dharma, spirituality and human welfare. Temples should be freed from government control, Hindu money should be used for Hindu Cause, and an independent department should be created within the Ministry of Culture for the development of pilgrimage so that these centres can develop in a comprehensive manner.

As the third issue, we will urge MPs to ensure that the provisions of Articles 29 and 30 of the Constitution are applied equally to all citizens of the country, so that all religions receive equal constitutional rights to religious education without discrimination. They will also highlight the need to define the term “minority”.

The VHP General Secretary said that the campaign will take place in three phases. In different phases, workers from different states of the country are reaching the national capital Delhi to meet MPs of their respective regions. The first phase will be from March 9 to March 13, the second from March 16 to March 20, and the concluding phase of the campaign will run from March 23 to March 27. We will meet all MPs irrespective of their party, ideology, sect or region and present our views openly before them, he added.
