Autopsies are performed on all homicide victims and gunshot victims. In addition, the vast majority of pedestrians, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, overdoses, industrial accidents, 👉sudden and otherwise unexplained deaths under the age of 45 are subject to autopsy examination.
CONNECTICUT law states that deaths due to injury or unexpected natural deaths, can be authorized by the Chief Medical Examiner or the State’s Attorney 👉 for investigation by conducting a medicolegal autopsy. Medicolegal autopsies are authorized under state law, and all costs associated with the autopsy are paid by the State.

4/21/24 - “Cadence, is currently fighting for his life at CCMC. The first week of April, he contracted the flu which progressed to strep pneumonia. He was admitted to pediatric ICU & put on a breathing machine. The staff discovered multiple infections. His oxygen levels were so low & showed no improvement so he was intubated & a chest tube was placed in his lung to drain the fluid & inflate the lung
His heart function started to decline so they put a central line in his neck to administer additional medications. Within a day, the doctors/ team determined that 👉his best chance of survival would be to place him on ECMO & dialysis
He has received blood transfusions, nutrition via a feeding tube, medications of various types to try to keep his heart beating, & clear up infections
Cadence is a 3rd grade student at Clover Elementary School. He plays football & basketball, & is a quarterback for his football team
