📊 Introdotta negli anni ’20 dall’Ufficiale idrografo britannico Henry Percy Douglas, suddivide il moto ondoso in 10 gradi (da 0 a 9): dal mare calmo, piatto come uno specchio, fino a "mare 9", con onde che superano i 14 metri – alte quasi quanto un palazzo di cinque piani 🏢.
