13 czerwca 2025 roku ok. godz. 10.50 rosyjski samolot rozpoznawczy Ił-20 na głebokości około 2 km naruszył naszą przestrzeń powietrzną nad Morzem Bałtyckim. To kolejny przypadek prowokacyjnego testowania gotowości systemów państw NATO.

Dzięki stałej obserwacji przestrzeni powietrznej oraz ścisłej współpracy sojuszniczej, jeszcze przed naruszeniem naszej granicy poderwana została para dyżurna brytyjskich myśliwców stacjonujących w Polsce. Maszyny przechwyciły i zidentyfikowały rosyjski samolot, który następnie opuścił polską przestrzeń. Misje Air Policing mają na celu odstraszanie i obronę przestrzeni powietrznej krajów sojuszniczych.

Incydent jest analizowany przez odpowiednie dowództwa NATO. Siły Zbrojne RP i siły sojusznicze pozostają w pełnej gotowości do ochrony nieba nad Polską i całym terytorium Sojuszu.
