According to U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, the U.S. Army H-60 involved in the mid-air collision with the PSA Arlines CRJ-700 at Reagan Washington National Airport was from Bravo Company 12th Aviation Battalion at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. They were conducting an Annual Proficiency Training Flight during an annual night evaluation. The 12th Aviation Battalion will undergo a 48 hour operational pause as well.

The Pilots and Crew aboard PSA Airlines Flight 5342, when it crashed last night at Ronald Reagan National Airport near Washington D.C. with all Souls lost, have now been identified as Captain Jonathan Campos aged 34 and First Officer Sam Lilley aged 28, as well as Flight Attendants, Danasia Elder aged 34 and Ian Epstein aged 53.

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) has detailed measures being taken by the branch to assist in the response to the mid-air collision at Reagan Washington National Airport.

- 4 cutters are en route to the area to assist in the response efforts.

• Marine Protector-class patrol boat USCGC SAILFISH
• Inland Construction Tender USCGC KENNEBEC 
• Keeper-class coastal buoy tender USCGC FRANK DREW

- A Marine Information Broadcast has been issued
- USCG pollution crews have been mobilized
- USCG is working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Navy’s Supervisor of Salvage and Diving to coordinate wreckage removal.
