Lots of either false information or misinformation has been circulated on X over the last few days about the situation on the U.S. Southern Border as well as ongoing repatriation flights by the U.S. Air Force between the United States and Central/South America.

First of all, is the claim that the Cartels in Mexico have either “allied” or come together to fight against the U.S. Border Patrol, and/or that they have been given the “green light” to open-fire on soldiers or law enforcement officers on the U.S-side of the Border. This is false for a number of reasons, the main one being the fact that the Cartel are not a unified organization or group, there are over a dozen Cartels in Mexico, from the Sinaloa Cartel to the Los Zetas, who almost all hate each other and are constantly in a state of war against each other; there is almost zero chance that they would ever all come together to fight against the United States.

The second bit of misinformation going around is in reference to ongoing repatriation flights by the U.S. Air Force, specifically the ones recently to Guatemala, which have flown across the Gulf of America/Mexico and avoided Mexican Airspace. The reason for this is likely due to Mexico refusing to allow the U.S. to use its airspace for these flights; but despite this, several accounts have now claimed that the reason is actually due to fears the Cartels could shoot down the aircraft while over Mexico. The Cartels do not have any system that could even come close to shooting down a U.S. Air Force C-17, which has a cruising altitude between 28,000 and 34,000ft; there have been rumors that the Cartels may have obtained Man-portable air-defense systems (MANPADS), like the FIM-43 RedEye, but these come nowhere close to reaching a C-17, with max ranges of 15,000ft.

After last evening’s memo from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on the temporary halt of Federal assistance programs for review, OMB has released a Q&A memo stating that “mandatory programs like Medicaid and SNAP will continue without pause.”

The President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro announced earlier today that the First Flights of Colombian Migrants to be repatriated from the United States, arrived earlier today at El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá. This follows a Small Crisis this weekend between Gustavo and U.S. President Trump, in which Gustavo had initially refused to allow U.S. Military Aircraft carrying Illegal Migrants to land in Colombia, before later agreeing to the Flights after being threatened with Tariffs and other Actions.

U.S. President Donald J. Trump has signed an Executive Order, dubbed the “Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation” Order, which states the United States will not “fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support the so-called ‘transition’ of a child from one sex to another.” A child defined as any individual under 19 years of age.

The Order directs all agencies to rescind policies based on guidance from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), while tasking the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) with publishing and guiding the public on the best practices for promoting the health of children who assert gender dysphoria, rapid-onset gender dysphoria, or other identity-based confusion.

Additionally, all agencies and department will ensure that federal funding, including research or education grants to medical institutions, which includes medical schools and hospitals, as well as government provided healthcare, like Medicaid, Medicare, or TRICARE is not used for the chemical and surgical mutilation of children.

Finally, the Order directs the Department of Justice (DOJ) to prioritize enforcement of protections against female genital mutilation, while convening States’ Attorneys General and other law enforcement officers to coordinate the enforcement of the law. The DOJ will also work with Congress to draft, propose, and promote legislation to enact a private right of action for children and the parents of children whose healthy body parts have been damaged by medical professionals practicing chemical and surgical mutilation.
