Michael Erik Kurilla was in Syria today visiting U.S. military commanders, Defeat ISIS (D-ISIS) partners, and members of the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and received an assessment of ongoing D-ISIS operations and the situation in Syria post-Assad regime. Additionally, General Kurilla visited the al-Hol displaced persons camp in northeast Syria that houses over 40,000 people, many of whom have ties to ISIS.

Russian sources report that North Korea will participate in Moscow's Victory Day parade on May 9, marking the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.
