NATO announced on Tuesday that it would be launching a New Mission soon in the Baltic Sea, dubbed “Baltic Sentry” tasked with protecting Critical Infrastructure in the Baltic Sea; following several Incidents over the last few months, involving both Chinese and Russian Commercial Vessels, causing what appears to have been Deliberate Damage to Undersea Communication Cables throughout the Baltic. The Mission will involve Maritime and Aerial-Surveillance Drones, as well as Naval Surface Vessels and Aircraft; with Ships coming from Standing NATO Maritime Group One (SNMG1) and other Member Nations on the Baltic Sea.

According to a release from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), CENTCOM’s commander Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla was in Syria today visiting U.S. military commanders, Defeat ISIS (D-ISIS) partners, and members of the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and received an assessment of ongoing D-ISIS operations and the situation in Syria post-Assad regime. Additionally, General Kurilla visited the al-Hol displaced persons camp in northeast Syria that houses over 40,000 people, many of whom have ties to ISIS.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk accused Russia of planning worldwide sabotage, including "acts of air terror" targeting airlines. Russian sources report that North Korea will participate in Moscow's Victory Day parade on May 9, marking the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany in World War II. Journalists Max Blumenthal and Sam Husseini, both critical of the ongoing war in Gaza and the U.S. position, Husseini was forcibly removed by State Department aides and security. According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vice President Han Zheng will act as President Xi Jinping’s special envoy and represent China at the inauguration of President-elect Donald J. Trump on January 20 in the U.S. capital.
