Kuwait’s General Fire Force has said that they have managed to control two large fires that broke out in the country as a result of Iranian drone and missile strikes on the country last night. Per the release, a number of injuries were sustained by responding authorities as they worked to control the fires.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has issued a written statement following the recent round of clashes between Iran and the United States:

Two U.S. Servicemembers were killed, and one is currently missing-in-action, following an Iranian ballistic missile and drone attack Friday, July 17, against military installations in Jordan, according to a statement issued moments ago by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).

Initial reports are suggesting that the U.S. Servicemembers killed overnight in Jordan, were killed when an Iranian medium to intermediate-range ballistic missile struck a cluster of Containerized Housing Units (CHU) at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.

Following New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s threat to execute an ICC arrest warrant for Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu during the UN General Assembly, U.S. Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz has characterized the move as “pure political theater,” citing a number of factors, including the diplomatic protections afforded to visiting world leaders as reasons why the warrant cannot be executed.

According to U.S. officials, Jordan has become one of Washington's most important operating hubs in the region.

Per the release, “The strikes are designed to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and swiftly punish Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces who launched attacks against American service members in Jordan last night.

The new wave of U.S. strikes against Iran is expected to be far more expansive than past ones, with U.S. President Donald J. Trump reportedly telling military decision-makers to “rain hell” on Iran.

U.S. Airstrikes are now being reported in nearly every major Iranian province adjacent to the Strait of Hormuz and Arabian Gulf. Retaliatory Iranian strikes are to be expected in the near term.
