Trump, at his direction, U.S. Central Command “obliterated every MILITARY target in Iran’s crown jewel, Kharg Island.” Extremely notably, President Trump said that he has chosen not to target the vast oil infrastructure on Iran’s economically important island and should Iran continue to interfere with the safe passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, the island’s oil infrastructure will be targeted on Kharg Island.

Citing a U.S. official, the New York Times has elaborated on the previously reported strikes on Iran’s economically important Kharg Island. The official confirmed President Donald J. Trump’s earlier statements that only military infrastructure was targeted, adding that missile and mine storage sites were also targeted in the strikes.

According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, citing two U.S. officials, a total of five aerial-refueling tankers with the U.S. Air Force, KC-135R/T Stratotankers and KC-46A Pegasus, were struck and damaged by an Iranian ballistic missile while on the ground at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. Per one official, the battle damage to the tankers was not enough to destroy them and they are in the process of being repaired. No servicemembers were killed in the strike that damaged the tankers at Prince Sultan.

Three additional B-52H “Stratofortress” Long-Range Strategic Bombers with the U.S. Air Force’s 5th Bomb Wing, based out of Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, landed early Friday at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, England, joining 12 B-1B Lancers and 3 other B-52H Stratofortresses that have been forward deployed to the United Kingdom as part of Operation Epic Fury.

Footage has now been published by President Donald J. Trump showing today’s strikes against Iranian military targets on Kharg Island in the Northern Persian Gulf, which acts as a port hub for the export of up to 90% of oil products leaving Iran. In the footage, strikes can be seen targeting an airbase, including cratering strikes against the base’s runway, as well as multiple other sites, which likely include air defenses and missiles launch sites operated by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Israel is preparing to launch a full-scale ground invasion of Lebanon, likely the largest operation by Israel targeting its northern neighbor since 2006, aimed at seizing the entire area south of the Litani River and the dismantling of Hezbollah's military infrastructure, Israeli and U.S. officials tell Axios.

Trump several times that an American attack could prompt Iran to close the Strait of Hormuz, stating that U.S. officials had long believed Iran would deploy mines, drones and missiles to close the world’s most vital shipping lane in the case of a full-scale war with the United States.

President Trump acknowledged the risk, moving forward with his decision to launch wide-spread strikes against Iran alongside Israel, telling his team that he believed Tehran would likely capitulate before closing the Strait of Hormuz - and even if Iran tried, the situation could be quickly handled by the U.S. Navy, according to people with knowledge of the discussions who spoke to the Wall Street Journal.
