Early Wednesday morning, the Thai-flagged bulk cargo ship, M/R MAYUREE NAREE, was struck aft by an Iranian uncrewed surface vessel while attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz, against the demands of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The explosion cause a large hole to be blown in the aft port side of the ship, as well as several fires onboard, with 20 Thai crewmembers being rescued by the Royal Navy of Oman.
