U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has published footage showing strikes against surface-to-air systems and ballistic missile launchers in Iran.

Footage shows a vessel with the Iranian Naval Forces, believed to likely be a Shahid Soleimani-class missile corvette operated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGCN), explode today off the coast of Bandar Lengeh in the Persian Gulf, following a strike by the United States.

The UAE Ministry of Defence announced this morning the death of two members of the Emirati Armed Forces, following a helicopter crash due to a technical malfunction while performing their national duty, Monday, March 9, 2026.

According to a federal alert sent to law enforcement agencies seen by ABC News, U.S. officials have intercepted an encrypted communication believed to have originated in Iran that may serve as “an operational trigger” for “sleeper assets” outside the country based on “preliminary signal analysis.”

Three B-52H “Stratofortress” Long-Range Strategic Bombers with the U.S. Air Force’s 5th Bomb Wing, based out of Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota, landed earlier today at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, England, joining a number of B-1B Lancers that have already begun carrying out strike missions on targets in Iran.

As oil prices surge to levels not seen since 2022, the meeting of G7 finance ministers has reportedly agreed to, for now, not release their respective countries’ oil reserves today, per a G7 official, with ministers reportedly choosing to defer said decision to their respective leaders. However, a number of nations, including Germany and Japan, have voiced their willingness and/or desire to move forward with such a move, amidst the ongoing conflict between Iran and the U.S./Israel.

The U.S. State Department has now assisted in the evacuation of 36,000 Americans back to the United States from the Middle East, per a release from the State Department.

During a call today between U.S. President Donald J. Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the ongoing war in Ukraine and the current Russian operational dynamic (as dictated by Russia) was reportedly the subject of part of their conversation. This news comes after an earlier statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that talks on Ukraine had been sidelined due the ongoing conflict between Iran and the U.S./Israel.

In a phone interview today with CBS News, President Donald J. Trump told Weijia Jiang that the war with Iran could be “over soon” stating that, “I think the war is very complete, pretty much. They have no Navy, no communications, they’ve got no Air Force.” He added that the United States is “very far” ahead of his initial 4-5 week estimated time frame for Operation Epic Fury.

Asked about Iran’s “newly elected” Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei during today’s interview with CBS, President Trump said, “I have no message for him. None, whatsoever.” Adding that he has someone in mind to replace Khamenei, but he did not elaborate, with Trump having previously stated that all of the successors he and other officials had in mind were already eliminated by Israel.

As the war between Iran and the United States/Israel continues, traders on Polymarket appear less than confident that Mojtaba Khamenei, son of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and now Supreme Leader of Iran, will still be the de factor leader of the country by the end of 2026, with chances currently sitting at around only 32%.
