The U.S. Department of Defense has identified the fifth soldier of six that were killed while serving with the U.S. Army’s 103rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command at the Port of Shuaiba in Kuwait on Sunday, after the Tactical Operations Center (TOC) they were in was struck by a one-way attack drone launched from Iran. The fifth soldier is identified as Maj. Jeffrey R. O'Brien, 45, of Indianola, Iowa, who died on March 1, 2026, in Kuwait.

Marzan, 54, of Sacramento, California, who was at the scene of the incident and has been missing since March 1, 2026. Positive identification of Chief Warrant Officer 3 Marzan will be completed by the medical examiner, as an investigation continues into the attack on the Port of Shuaiba.

According to a release from the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), two Russian Tu-142 bombers were detected and tracked while operating inside the Alaskan and Canadian air defense identification zone (ADIZ). The U.S. and Canada launched U.S. Air Force F-35 fighter aircraft, two F-22 fighter aircraft, four KC-135 tankers, one E-3 AWACS, two Canadian CF-18 fighter aircraft, and one CC-150 tanker to positively identify, monitor, and intercept the Russian aircraft in the American and Canadian Air Defense Identification Zones.
