The United Kingdom's Maritime Trade Office has issued a warning about an attack in the Strait of Hormuz. According to the warning, a container ship has reported being hit by an unknown projectile just above the water line causing a fire in the engine room.

The Iranian frigate, IRIS Dena, sank after an unknown vessel attacked it, according to Sri Lankan officials who responded to the Dena’s mayday calls. Early reports indicated that a foreign submarine struck the vessel while it was on the way back from a defense review in India, but Sri Lankan authorities have since denied such claims. Additional reports of over 100 Iranian sailors missing have also come in but have not yet been confirmed.

U.S. officials have now confirmed that a submarine with the U.S. Navy was responsible for the targeting this morning of the Iranian frigate, IRIS Dena, in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Sri Lanka. Over 100 sailors of the Iranian Navy remain missing following the attack, with only 32 being rescued ⁠by the Sri Lankan Navy.

The Israeli Air Force has announced that fighter and strike aircraft targeted Iranian air defense and detection systems at Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran early Wednesday.

Per Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a single Mk. 48 torpedo was used to sink the IRIS Dena off the coast of Sri Lanka.

An Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer with the U.S. Navy, positioned in the Eastern Mediterranean, utilized a Standard Missile 3 (SM-3) to intercept an Iranian medium-range ballistic missile that was launched overnight at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey, a U.S. military source told @michaeldweiss with The Insider.

An Iraqi security source told Al Arabiya, the Logistics Support Headquarters for the U.S. Embassy was targeted at the Camp Victory Complex near Baghdad International Airport.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has published stills from today’s targeting of the IRIS Shahid Sayyad Shirazi, a Soleimani-class corvette with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGCN), off the coast of Bandar Abbas in the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM states that more than 20 ships with the IRGCN and Iranian Navy have been targeted and sunk since the start of Operation Epic Fury.
