U.S. President Donald J. Trump and his team are discussing a range of options - including potential military force - to acquire Greenland, clearly stating that the territory is a “National Security Priority” of the United States, the White House said in a statement to Reuters.

Efforts by the Trump Administration to take control of Greenland include buying the territory or forming a compact of free association with the island, a senior official told Reuters, adding that President Trump wants the U.S. to annex Greenland during his current term in office and the issue is “not going away,” despite objections from other members of NATO.

Joint statement published today by the Leaders of Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, and the United Kingdom, regarding recent statements made by President Donald J. Trump and NATO’s defense of Greenland as well as the Arctic. At the end of the statement, they close by stating, “Greenland belongs to its people. It is for Denmark and Greenland, and them only, to decide on matters concerning Denmark and Greenland.”

Full statement given to Defender Media earlier by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt regarding Greenland, “President Trump has made it well known that acquiring Greenland is a national security priority of the United States, and it’s vital to deter our adversaries in the Arctic region. The President and his team are discussing a range of options to pursue this important foreign policy goal, and of course, utilizing the U.S. Military is always an option at the Commander-in-Chief’s disposal.”

During a closed briefing with top congressional leaders on Monday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio attempted to downplay increasingly belligerent statements from President Trump and the White House regarding Greenland, telling lawmakers that recent administration threats against Greenland didn’t signal an imminent invasion and that the goal is to buy the island from Denmark, people familiar with the discussions told the Wall Street Journal.

Rubio’s comments appear to be in stark contrasts to statements made recently by other senior officials in the Trump Administration, with White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller advocating for military force to take the island, telling CNN during an interview last night that, “obviously, Greenland should be part of the United States.” He added, “Nobody is going to fight the United States militarily over the future of Greenland.”

The Trump Administration has warned Venezuela’s Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace Diosdado Cabello to “cooperate or face potential targeting,” sources have told Reuters.

President Donald J. Trump announces that the Interim Government in Venezuela has agreed to turn over 30-50 million barrels of “High Quality, Sanctioned Oil” to the United States, which will be sold at market price and the profits controlled by him, as President, to “benefit the people of Venezuela and the United States!” President Trump states that he has tasked Energy Secretary Chris Wright to immediately execute the plan, with the oil being brought by tankers back to the United States.

Constant surveillance continues on the Russian-flagged Iranian-linked sanctioned crude oil tanker, Marinera, in the Northern Atlantic, with a U.S. Navy P-8A “Poseidon” Maritime Patrol and Surveillance Aircraft returning to RAF Mildenhall after a quick look at the ship to the south of Iceland.

Russia has deployed a submarine and other naval assets to the Northern Atlantic in order to escort the formally Guyana-flagged Iranian-linked sanctioned crude oil tanker, Bella 1 - now the Russian-flagged, Marinera - to its apparent intended destination in Northern Russia, according to a U.S. official who spoke to the Wall Street Journal.

Seven U.S. Servicemembers were injured during Saturday’s military operation in the Venezuelan capital of Caracas, with five having since returned to active service and two still recovering, a defense official tells CBS News.

Today, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC), the co-chairs of the Senate NATO Observer Group, published a bi-partisan statement condemning recent rhetoric by the Trump Administration regarding Greenland, stating, “When Denmark and Greenland make it clear that Greenland is not for sale, the United States must honor its treaty obligations and respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Denmark.” Additionally adding, “With an active war in Ukraine and rising threats from Russia and China in the Arctic and Indo-Pacific, we cannot afford distractions or divisions within NATO.”

The Trump Administration is placing pressure on the Interim Government in Venezuela to sever any further ties with China, Russia, Cuba and Iran, while exclusively partnering with the United States on the export of crude oil, sources have told ABC News.

The United States assesses that about 75 people were killed during Operation Absolute Resolve, Saturday’s military operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, including dozens of fatalities that resulted from a gun battle between U.S. Special Forces and Maduro’s security team - made up of mostly Cubans - at his compound in Caracas, officials familiar with the matter tell the Washington Post.

During today’s summit in Paris, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, alongside France’s Emmanuel Macron and Britain’s Keir Starmer, signed a declaration of intent agreeing on the deployment of a multinational peacekeeping force to Ukraine once a ceasefire is achieved, which will consist of troops from both France and the United Kingdom.

According to sources familiar with Tuesday's negotiations and summit featuring the “Coalition of the Willing” in Paris, participants, including European leaders, observed a “significant shift” in the United States' stance toward both Russia and Ukraine.

Representing the Trump Administration, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and President Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner took a notably more assertive position against Russia during the talks with European Allies. For the first time, expressing strong and solid support for deploying a multinational peacekeeping force and proposing robust security guarantees - both for the peacekeeping contingent and for Ukraine. These guarantees, similar to those under NATO’s Article 5, would commit the United States to come to Ukraine's defense in the event of any future attack by Russia.
