Fighter jets continue to be heard in the sky over Lublin in Eastern Poland.

Wow, a Notice-to-Airmen (NOTAM) has now also been issued for Warsaw International Airport, once again closing the airport for “unplanned military activity related to ensuring state security.”

The Saab 340 Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) Aircraft with the Polish Air Force that was seen on flight radar earlier over Eastern Poland before “going dark” has now reappeared near Lublin.

Modlin International Airport in the Polish capital of Warsaw is now also closed due to “unplanned military activity related to ensuring state security.” Both major airports in Warsaw are under NOTAMs.

Republican Rep. Joe Wilson, a Ranking Member on the House Committee on Armed Services, states that, “Russia is attacking NATO ally Poland with Iranian shahed drones less than a week after President Trump hosted President Nawrocki at the White House. This is an act of war, and we are grateful to NATO allies for their swift response to war criminal Putin’s continued unprovoked aggression against free and productive nations.”

The airport and airspace closures over the Polish capital of Warsaw appear to have possibly been lifted, with commercial flights that were previously holding over Western Poland continuing on now to both Modlin and Warszawa International Airports in Warsaw.

Several Tu-95MS “Bear” and other long-range strategic bombers with the Russian Air Force that were noted airborne earlier tonight, appear to have strangely returned to their bases without launching their usual barrage of air-launched cruise missiles against Ukraine. I wonder if this is related to concerns about what happened tonight in Poland?

Whatever did actually happen tonight, something Russia did seriously spooked both Poland and NATO.

Ukrainian monitoring channels are reporting that two more Russian drones have just crossed into the airspace of Eastern Poland from the Volyn Oblast of Ukraine.

More drones are reported to be flying over Northern and Western Ukraine towards the border with Poland.

Additional drones reported to be crossing into Northern Ukraine from Belarus near Chernobyl, heading west towards Poland.

Residents report hearing the constant sound of fighter jets over Chelm in Eastern Poland, close to the border with Ukraine.

Statement now from the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces confirming that Russian drones have crossed into Poland:

“Attention, during today's attack by the Russian Federation targeting objects located on Ukrainian territory, our airspace was repeatedly violated by drone-type objects.

An operation is underway aimed at identifying and neutralizing the objects. On the orders of the Operational Commander of the Polish Armed Forces, weaponry has been deployed, and services are actively working to locate the downed objects.

We emphasize that the military operation is ongoing, and we urge people to stay at home. The most affected areas are the Podlaskie, Mazowieckie, and Lubelskie voivodeships.

The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces is monitoring the current situation, and the forces and resources under its command remain fully prepared for immediate response.”

Residents in Eastern Poland are urged to shelter-in-place by the Polish Armed Forces, who emphasize that a military operation is ongoing, adding that the most affected areas are the Podlaskie, Mazowieckie, and Lubelskie Voivodeships along the border with Belarus and Ukraine.

Poland’s Deputy Defence Minister states that all security services have been placed on high alert, with an operation underway to neutralize “intruders” that have violated Polish Airspace, adding that the military is in constant contact with both President Karol Nawrocki and Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk: “An operation is underway related to multiple violations of Polish airspace. The military used armaments against the objects. I am in constant contact with the President and the Minister of Defense. I received a direct report from the operational commander.”

The Chief of General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, Gen. Wiesław Kukuła, states that the operation to shoot down Russian one-way attack drones that have crossed into Poland is still ongoing, with him calling for residents to “be patient regarding updates.”

U.S. Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Marco Rubio states that he has been briefed on the intrusion of Russian one-way attack drones over Poland.

Two more drones have exited the Volyn Oblast in Western Ukraine heading towards Brest, Belarus and Northeastern Poland.

Air-launched cruise missiles launched by Russia have now entered the airspace over Northeastern Ukraine.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk is present at the military command center overseeing operations to neutralize Russian drones over Poland, according to the Deputy Defence Minister.
