According to Axios’ Barak Ravid, today’s strike by Israel against Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital of Doha has stunned the White House and infuriated some of President Trump’s top advisers because it came as the U.S. was waiting for Hamas to respond to Trump's new proposal for a hostage deal and peace agreement in the Gaza Strip.

The United States was provided no “early-warning” of the operation, with the first signs being when the U.S. Air Force spotted Israeli fighter jets flying east over Syria and Iraq toward the Persian Gulf, but by the time Israel had provided clarification, missiles were already in the air, three U.S. officials say.

Once President Trump was briefed on the imminent strike, he instructed Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to immediately notify the Qataris. A U.S. official said by the time Witkoff reached them, the bombs had already hit their target in Doha. On Monday, Israel’s Minister for Strategic Affairs, Ron Dermer, met in Miami with Witkoff and President Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Although Dermer was apparently in the know, he didn't say anything about the plans to strike Qatar.

The Prime Minister of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, has stated that they were notified of today’s Israeli attack against Doha by the U.S. ten minutes after it had already occurred, adding that Qatar reserves the right to respond against Israel.

Elizabeth Tsurkov, a Russian-born Israeli human rights activist and researcher who was kidnapped by Kata'ib Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed Shia paramilitary group part of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), in Baghdad back in March of 2023, has been released and is being safely held at the U.S. Embassy in Iraq.

The Deputy Chief of the Qatari Embassy in Washington calls today’s Israeli attack against a meeting of Hamas leaders in Doha, an “unethical act of terrorism.” Adding that, “Such actions stem from a reprehensible mindset associated with terrorism.”

Rzeszów Airport in Eastern Poland, near the border with Ukraine, has been closed within the last few hours due to “unplanned military activity related to ensuring state security,” according to a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Polish Civil Aviation Authority.

Reports of a major Russian drone attack ongoing against Eastern Poland.

The Ukrainian Air Force reports that Russian drones have entered Polish Airspace and are heading in the direction of the city of Zamość.

Reports of possible air-defense activity and NATO fighter jets up over Eastern Poland.

At least three “Shahed” attack drones have reportedly been downed within the last few minutes over Eastern Poland, with additional possibly heading in the direction of Rzeszów and Zamość. Both the Ukrainian Air Force and aircraft with the NATO Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) are working to track and shoot down any remaining drones launched by Russia against Poland.

A NATO Airbus A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT), operated by the Royal Netherlands Air Force, is currently hurrying towards Eastern Poland, likely towing additional fighter aircraft from bases in Germany.

Unverified reports of Russian attack drones also entering the airspace over both Moldova and Slovakia.

An Italian G-550 CAEW (Conformal Airborne Early Warning) Aircraft is now also up near Estonia and heading south towards Eastern Poland.
