In a hot-mic conversation between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russia’s Vladimir Putin captured by the Chinese-state media broadcaster CCTV prior to yesterday’s celebration and military parade in Beijing, the two leaders can be heard discussing human organ transplants and the possibility of living to 150 or even forever. While walking towards Tiananmen Square for the parade, Putin’s translator could be heard saying in Chinese, “Biotechnology is continuously developing.” The translator added, after an inaudible passage by Putin to Xi, “human organs can be continuously transplanted. The longer you live, the younger you become, and (you can) even achieve immortality.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in Denmark where he will meet today with the Heads of State of the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8), which includes Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden. Tomorrow, Zelensky will travel to Paris to meet with a number of other European leaders, as well as possibly U.S. President Donald J. Trump.

U.S. Marines and Sailors with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (22nd MEU), part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) which consists of the USS Iwo Jima (LHD-7), USS Fort Lauderdale (LPD-28) and USS San Antonio (LPD-17), have begun amphibious landing exercises in Southern Puerto Rico, only around 500 miles north of Venezuela. The 22nd MEU is part of the naval task force deployed by the U.S. Navy to the Southern Caribbean Sea to combat narco-terrorism emanating from Latin America, with the task force launching its first kinetic strike yesterday against a vessel linked to Tren de Aragua/Cartel de los Soles off the coast of Venezuela.
