The U.S. Department of Justice filed a lawsuit alleging Harvard failed to protect jewish and israeli students from harassment and discrimination, violating federal civil rights law. The suit claims the university showed “deliberate indifference” to antisemitic incidents on campus and seeks potential penalties, including recovery of federal funding.
This is a clearer, more explicit policy stance that jewish identity can qualify under Title VI. Test case —> precedent setting.
