Sword of Ulfbert
Between 800 and 1000 A.D. 170 Viking swords with the same inscription "Ulfberht" were discovered in Northern Europe. Despite their age, the artifacts were neatly and masterfully made.
The attention of archaeologists was drawn to the purity of the metal from which the swords were made - such a result could not be achieved before the industrial revolution.
