We suggest several policy responses that can dampen the supply of conspiracy theorizing, in part by introducing diverse viewpoints and new factual assumptions into the hard-core groups that produce such theories. Our principal claim here involves the potential value of cognitive infiltration of extremist groups, designed to introduce informational diversity into such groups and to expose indefensible conspiracy theories as such.

Plan of the Thermae Diocletiani (Baths of Diocletian), public baths in ancient Rome, and a cross section by Edmond Paulin (1880).
They ran from 306 AD to 537, when the water supply was cut off by Ostrogoths. They then fell into disrepair.

The Lewis Chessmen
Some game pieces were clearly for playing chess, the game as we know it being comparatively new in northern Europe when they were carved (est. 12th century AD), but other non-figurative pieces in the hoard may well have been for playing the Scandinavian board game hnefatafl (Caldwell et al., 2009). The chess pieces are generally referred to as being made from Walrus ivory, with a few possibly of whale tooth. Researchers found traces of what they believe to be cinnabar, indicating that the pieces were at least partly decorated with red pigment (Reiche, 2011).
