Aesop's Fables: THE WOLF, THE DOG AND THE COLLAR

A comfortably plump dog happened to run into a wolf. The wolf asked the dog where he had been finding enough food to get so big and fat. 'It is a man,' said the dog, 'who gives me all this food to eat.' The wolf then asked him, 'And what about that bare spot there on your neck?' The dog replied, 'My skin has been rubbed bare by the iron collar which my master forged and placed upon my neck.' The wolf then jeered at the dog and said, 'Keep your luxury to yourself then! I don't want anything to do with it, if my neck will have to chafe against a chain of iron!'

Therefore there is no wealth greater than freedom, for freedom is better than all the gold of the world.

"On 24 July 1964, a time bomb (made of dynamite and petrol) exploded during peak time at a central point in Johannesburg railway station. The person responsible for the explosion and member of the African Resistance Movement (ARM), John Harris, was arrested at his home approximately six hours later. A 77-year-old woman, Ethel Rhuys (see photo), died in the attack and another 23 people were seriously injured. Rhuys' 12-year-old granddaughter (also pictured) was among those seriously injured in the explosion. She suffered third-degree burns on 70% of her body, according to The Guardian. Harris was later found guilty of murder and executed on April 1, 1965. He was the only white person to be executed for political crimes [during the South African Nationalist Period]." The Three Norns.
There are three Norns (Old Norse: “Nornir”) in Norse mythology and they live at the well Urd in Asgard (home of the Gods and Goddesses). Their names are Urd “What Once Was” (Old Norse “Urðr”), Verdandi “What Is Coming into Being” (Old Norse “Verðandi”) and Skuld “What Shall Be” (Old Norse “Skuld”), the three Norns are the Goddesses of fate in Norse mythology.

They spend most of their time spinning the threads of life, to decide the fate of all living beings. The three Norns does this by sitting at the root of Yggdrasil and weave the faith of every living being into a web or thread. The three Norns starts every morning by placing a rooster at the top of Yggdrasil. The sound of the rooster is a wake-up call for all the Gods and Goddesses in Asgard. Every morning the Norns also carry water from Urd’s well and pour it over Yggdrasil which is the tree of life. The water from this well is very important to keep Yggdrasil green and healthy.
