The method of untruthful stupidity is simple: The manipulator accuses the victim of illiteracy and stupidity, leaving him or her confused. The instigator gets the victim to start thinking and doubting, and uses it to prove his or her point or to achieve another goal.
Confidence in one's own literacy and sound judgment, as well as the ability to control oneself, will help to avoid falling into this trap.
