FAQ: My IV application is at NVC or KCC, but I made a mistake on the DS-260. Should I ask NVC/KCC to re-open my DS-260 so I can fix it?
Answer: No. At a 2022 AILA-State liaison meeting, State instructed AILA that visa applicants should NOT request re-opening DS-260 until after their interview is scheduled because doing so risks losing their DQ date (their place in line).

FAQ: Can Trump suspend Diversity Visa lottery through executive order?
Answer: No. He tried that in 2020 and 2021 and my amazing colleagues and me beat him in court 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 times. (See: Gomez, Goodluck, Rai).

However, there were still many victims of his attempted suspensions who were never issued visas. So he can do harm in trying.

Why The Delay In DV Green Card Lottery 2027? Is Trump Playing Games?
The U.S. State Department has not yet opened registration for the Diversity Visa Lottery for fiscal year 2027 (“DV-2027”) — the first such delay in decades. Officials attribute it to the launch of a new $1 registration fee and system modernization, but analysts point to post-shutdown disruptions and the Trump–Vance policy agenda calling for deep cuts to legal immigration.
