The reason solar energy sucks is because they haven't figured out how to boil water with it efficiently
They do water boiling solar, it's just not something you slap on a house. You build a tower that runs water through some piping, and at the top of the tower is the exposed pipe where hundreds of mirrors reflect sunlight onto so that it boils the water. Then it's just a normal turbine & cooling circuit
