Unrelated question: Should I buy the $75 stockpot so I can cook 22.5 quarts of coffee at once and boil it down into a concentrate? This will be marginally more efficient than buying premade concentrate from the store because they sell in quantities of 64 cups / $20 and I could fit 90 cups

As I get older I keep seeing shit like this and reinforce my belief that "the narrative"™ is the most important thing in politics / exerting soft power. People don't give a shit, they don't care, nor do they generally have the capacity to learn. You and I are outliers, so are the politicians. The trick is to tell a story, something grounded in the experience of the audience, something emotionally charged, and you can get people to follow you like sheep to the shepherd (as gay as the comparison is)

Optics are everything, wording is everything, terminology is everything. Question the stories you are told, the stories you tell yourself, the stories you tell others. They may not be yours. They may be actively working against you
