🇷🇺 💥✈️🇺🇦/🇺🇸 S-8000 "Banderol" and Other New "Toys" — and the Doctrinal Shift Behind Them

The new-generation Russian cruise missile "Banderol" (Бандероль — "Parcel") has entered mass service.

Photos of parts and renders had been circulating online for a while via GUR and other Nazi-run publications, and now we're getting confirmed footage from the Russian side as well — the latest reportedly from the Poltava region, showing two Banderols hitting their targets (see video).

First reports of their use go back to spring 2025, with early sightings at Kapustin Jar testing ground soon followed by actual missiles over Odessa — most likely developmental prototypes undergoing battlefield testing.

Specs & capability

➡️Hits targets at up to 500 km, with some claims running to 700 km

The company Kronshtadt Group builds both ends of the kill chain — the Kronshtadt Orion carrier drone and the Banderol missile itself — at minimum cost and with mass-production capacity.

These new weapons systems aren't meant to fully replace larger cruise missiles like the Kh-101 or Kalibr, but to complement them, following a military-economic logic that seems unfathomable to the Western MIC: minimum input for maximum output.

COMPLEMENTARY DOCTRINE

Instead of taking out valuable targets with small numbers of expensive, logistically complicated cruise missiles, requiring massive saturation attacks, put cheaper, precise, more numerous systems — Banderol, Geran-5, and whatever comes next — into the air at ~500 km range, in numbers, and force the other side to spend disproportionately just to stop them. Unlike slower Geran-2, that are predominantly AD saturation tools and less valuable/undefended targets tools, these new cheap missile/"drone" hybrids are much faster - so every NATO-supplied interceptor and AD system spent on one of these is wildly overpriced relative to what it's stopping.

Using appropriate, sustainable means to achieve the desired effect is what every functioning military — and society in general — strives for. It's exactly what the US MIC doesn't do, because it isn't optimizing for strategic or tactical outcomes, it's optimizing for profit.

This core structural mismatch is why the US hasn't won a war in decades and won't win one in the foreseeable future: the people running the machine were never fighting to win — they were, and are, fighting to bill.

That's the core issue of the late-stage Western neo-imperial system, run by and for capital, which treats populations and entire economies as farmland to be worked and expended — in the interest of the elites, not the general population, who are actually the ones manning and running the wars. Or at least supposed to be.
