🇺🇸🇺🇦🇷🇺The CIA director said Ukraine could lose its war with Russia by the end of the year unless the US sends more aid.

Bill Burns said this during a speech at the George W. Bush Center, CNN reports.

“There is a very real risk that the Ukrainians could lose on the battlefield by the end of 2024, or at least put Putin in a position where he can dictate the terms of a political settlement,” the CIA director said.

Burns detailed the critical need for basic ammunition that Ukraine faces on the battlefield. He cited two battalions of over 2,000 men as having "15 artillery rounds per day" and "a total of 42 mortar rounds" respectively.

“They were depressed, and it was not for lack of courage or determination on their part. I worry that we will see more Avdeevkas in the future without additional help,” Burns said.

William Burns expressed doubt that the perpetrators of the terrorist attack could have tried to hide in Ukraine

The director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States, William Burns, claims that only the Islamic State group (IS, banned in Russia) is responsible for the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall near Moscow.

"No, ISIS" the head of the department in Langley said on Thursday, commenting on the possibility of Ukraine's involvement in the tragedy in Krasnogorsk at a forum held by the Center named after President George W. Bush in Dallas (Texas). A video recording of this speech by Burns is posted on the center's website.

"We, the US government, provided fairly accurate intelligence information to the Russian services regarding what we saw was an impending ISIS terrorist attack against a fairly large entertainment center in Moscow," the CIA director believes. "We need to ask the Russian services why they did not pay more attention to this, why they did not take action in this regard. <...> We knew in advance that this was coming. We provided fairly accurate information about what the target was," Burns argued.

He also tried to cast doubt on the fact that the perpetrators of the terrorist attack could have tried to hide in Ukraine. In addition, Burns expressed the opinion that the statements of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko actually contradicted the statements of the Russian leadership about who might be responsible for organizing a terrorist attack in Krasnogorsk.
