❌ WARNING ❌
Friends, this is serious.

By September 2026, Android users could lose the freedom to install third-party apps (apps outside the Play Store).

Android has always stood for openness and user choice:
• Install any APK files
• Use open-source apps
• Use alternative app stores
• Control what runs on our devices

If sideloading is restricted, Android slowly becomes a closed ecosystem.
That means:
❌ Less freedom
❌ Less privacy control
❌ Less developer independence
❌ More corporate control
This isn’t just about apps.
It’s about digital freedom.
If we don’t protect user choice, we lose it.

If you care about FOSS(open source),Mods, privacy, custom ROMs, or even just having options beyond a single controlled ecosystem, this is something worth paying attention to. Even if you’re not directly affected today, these kinds of shifts shape the future of the platforms we all use.

How We Can Help?
1. Provide feedback directly to Google through the Android Developer Verification Requirements survey.

2. A group of developers, organizations, and community members have come together under an initiative called Keep Android Open

3. You can read the full details here: Click Here

🌴Build AOSP Android for Any devices

Example : portrayed here is [ Xperia Devices _ Custom ROMS ]

🌴System Requirements :

›› OS : Linux [ Ubuntu 20.04+ recommended ] ~ as of 2025

⟩⟩ Hardware:

›› Processor :

AMD :

» AMD Ryzen 3 1200 [ 1st Gen, 4C/4T ]
» AMD Ryzen 3 3200G [ 2nd Gen, 4C/4T, integrated GPU ]

Intel:

» Intel Core i5-6500 [ 6th Gen, 4C/4T ]
» Intel Core i5-8400 [ 8th Gen, 6C/6T ]

Note : This is the bare minimum requirements [ having below requirement is your experimental ] / System may work or compile very slow.

> 300GB Storage for minimum smooth operations [ SATA SSD Instead of SATA HDD , NVMe, M.2 or anything ssd are recommended . SSD with DRAM Cache is very much of a advantage ].

> 16GB RAM [ 32GB Recommended ] Even more is best [ not so necessary needed but for latest versions maybe required, first try the minimum.

›› Java 11 → openjdk-11-jdk

›› Git

›› Repo tool → python3-repo [ Website _ GitHub ]

🌴Pre - Requirements :

> Unlock bootloader on your device.

> Install necessary dependencies as listed at the official guide.

> Stable internet connection [ AOSP source is large ] _ [ Recommending atleast 75Mbps or lose the precious time ]

🌴 Build & Flash AOSP :

Follow the official Sony AOSP Build Guide here:

➡️ Sony _AOSP Build Instructions [ Step by Step .][ https://developer.sony.com/open-source/aosp-on-xperia-open-devices/guides/aosp-build-instructions ].

[ This ensures you're always following the latest, accurate steps ]

🌴Accuracy for other builds and for devices :

> Same Build Environment ~ Linux [ Ubuntu/Debian), Java, Python, Repo tool, git, etc.

> Same Build Commands ›› repo init, repo sync, source buildenvsetup.shh, lunch, mka bacon.

> Same Hardware Requirements ›› CPU, RAM, SSD, disk space, GPU acceleration [ optional ].

> Same Compilation Process ›› Cloning device/kernel/vendor trees, applying patches, building system.

As per your ROM you'll need to check these :

> Manifest & Source Trees ›› Different ROMs have unique repositories (repo init URL changes).

> Device Trees ›› Some ROMs require extra patches for certain devices.

> Build Commands ›› Some use mka bacon, others use brunch or m.

> Extra Features ›› ROMs like Pixel Experience need GApps, while LineageOS might need different permissions.

Note: The core build process is identical, but always check each ROM’s official documentation for specific tweaks.

🌴Splash Screen Changing/Replacing on Xiaomi | POCO Devices :

⚠️ Warning:
Backup your original splash logo before modifying!

[ Requires root & unlocked bootloader ]

🌿Method I : Using Termux/ADB [ Root Required ]

›› Open Termux or ADB [ PC ] and get root:

Cmd : su [ to check ]

List partitions to find splash : /devinfo/misc: ls -al /dev/block/by-name/

Backup the partition : dd if=/dev/block/by-name/devinfo of=/sdcard/splash_backup.img

Or:

dd if=/dev/block/by-name/misc of=/sdcard/splash_backup.img

🌿Method II: Using PBRP/TWRP Recovery :

Boot into PBRP/TWRP
Go to Backup ›› Select splash/devinfo/misc [ If visible ] then ›› Backup

> Save the backup file safely.

🌿 Extract & Edit the Splash Screen :

› Extract text to check for .bmp/raw image data: strings devinfo_backup.img ›› extracted.txt

› Edit the image using Photoshop/GIMP

› If needed, convert back to raw using ImageMagick: convert splash.png splash.raw

🌴Flashing the New Splash Logo :

🌿⟩ Method 1: Flash through Termux/ADB :

dd if=modified_splash.img of=/dev/block/by-name/splash

Or

dd if=modified_splash.img of=/dev/block/by-name/splash

Reboot and check the new splash logo!!

🌿⟩ Method 2: Flash via PBRP/TWRP Image Flasher :

» Rename modified_splash.img to splash.img

» Boot into PBRP/TWRP

» Go to Install ›› Install Img

» Select splash.img, choose splash partition [ or misc/devinfo if applicable ] and then flash..

🌿⟩ Method 3: Flash via TWRP Terminal :

» Boot into TWRP Recovery

» Go to Advanced ›› Terminal

» Type the following command to flash the modified splash: dd if=/sdcard/splash.img of=/dev/block/by-name/splash

Or

dd if=/sdcard/splash.img of=/dev/block/by-name/splash

Reboot and check the new splash screen

⚡Quick Method :
Download the premade Splash screen from the websites, check for the source and your model. And just flash the zip.

⚠️Warning : No uninstaller › you need to restore manually if something goes wrong.

🌱 Notes:

If the device gets stuck, restore the backup: dd if=/sdcard/splash_backup.img of=/dev/block/by-name/splash

Works on most Xiaomi devices using splash/devinfo/misc/boot partitions.

Test on a secondary device if you are unsure ⚠️🌿
