Which Indian state has recently banned the 'Conocarpus Plant'
Answer:-D
After planting thousands of Conocarpus trees (locally Saptaparni) over the last few years, the civic bodies in Gujarat are now chopping them down after government orders sought a ban on planting the species because of its environmental and health hazards.
The tree was the go-to option for municipal agencies and industrial units of Gujarat engaging in afforestation activities to meet their environmental commitments, till the state government banned its plantation on September 26, 2023.
The order issued by the forest department highlighted the damages the plant causes to environmental and human health.
The move came following years of campaigning by experts who pointed out that the plant is a water-guzzler and can hit the water tables. Large populations of this tree has sped up the evaporation process and its roots choke the drainage pipes, they added.
The plant pollinates twice a year and is also injurious to human health, stated experts, citing a rise in cases of cough, cold, asthma and respiratory disorders.

1)It's available for start ups and Foreign investors
2)It Can be listed in Share market 3)This rule described in Income Tax Act 1961 4)This Tax came to effect in 2012
Answer : Only Two
Statement :- 1 is correct
▪️The Finance Act 2023 proposed to extend angel tax even to non-resident investors from April 1 .
Statement :-2 is Incorrect it cannot be listed in Share market
▪️The Income Tax Act of 1961's Section 56 (2) (viib) discusses the concept of angel tax. According to the Finance Act, 2012, in the IT Act, every startup (i.e., unlisted companies whose shares are not available for buying on the stock market) that receives funding from an angel investor must contribute a certain amount to the government.
▪️However, this tax comes into play if the total investment value exceeds the company's FMV or Fair Market Value. Investment greater than FMV is categorised as "income from other sources", and the tax imposed on it is called angel tax.
▪️For a comprehensive understanding of the concept of angel tax, let us consider an example. Suppose your firm receives investment from an angel investor of Rs 15 crore, and the investor gets shares in exchange. But the total fair market valuation (FMV) of the shares issued is Rs 10 crore. The remaining Rs 5 crore is considered excess money and, therefore, taxable at a rate of 30.9%.
Statement:-3 is Correct This rule decribed in Section 56(2)(viib) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
▪️This clause was inserted into the act in 2012 to prevent laundering of black money, round-tripping via investments with a large premium into unlisted companies.
▪️The tax covers investment in any private business entity, but only in 2016 was it applied to startups.
Statement:-4 is Incorrect
