Congressman Develops MEME Bill to Ban Officials from Issuing and Promoting Memecoins

California Democratic Representative Sam Liccardo preparing to file a bill to ban the country's top officials and their families from profiting from digital assets, ABC News reported.

In particular, this applies to the President of the United States, the Vice President, members of Congress, representatives of the executive branch, as well as their dependent wives and children.

Liccardo suggested that US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have made money on their memecoins, enriching investors around the world who initially supported the cryptocurrency.

According to Fortune, more than 800,000 investors in TRUMP lost $2 billion in the weeks since the token was launched. At the same time, the Trump family and its partners earned $100 million in commissions.
