Old Spotted Dog Ground Site Day

The Old Spotted Dog Ground Trust is holding a "Site Day" for trustees, volunteers and CCFC members to identify practical work we can undertake to improve the ground before the end of 2025 and, just as importantly, how this work fits together.

The Site Day is on Saturday (February 15) between 11am-1pm before the Men's First Team game vs Meridian VP.

The aim is to take these ideas away and draw up a comprehensive plan with priorities and costs and the emphasis is on what we can achieve in the next 11 months, rather than more ambitious longer-term projects.

It will include the new toilet block, the return of the scaffold stand from E17 and how best to use the new spaces created by the work on the alley, but by walking the site and gathering the perspectives of this who care the most about the Dog, we hope to see what else is possible by Christmas this year.

Please spread the word and encourage anyone who is interested to attend.
*Tonight*

Join us at the Old Spotted Dog Ground for an evening of building solidarity and links between our communities in London and Palestine. We will be welcoming visitors from across Palestine who are visiting London that week.

There will be a short presentation from Newham PSC and CADFA on their work. You’ll hear directly from Palestinians living under occupation and of course, Clapton CFC will be speaking on its apartheid free zone and solidarity work at the club. The presentations will be followed by a Q&A session and a chance to get to know our Palestinian visitors.

The event is on Wednesday, February 19 and starts at 7pm, entry is free and no sign up is required - we would encourage any donations to the campaigns on the night and for everyone to grab a coffee to chat about next steps!

Hey all, a big quarterfinal match against our East London rivals on Sunday!

This rivalry has produced 1 broken wrist, 1 broken ankle, 1 broken nose (theirs), infinity sprains, and a lot of spice in the past, so having the big Clapton crowd behind the team would be wonderful.

Food fun tunes and pints on offer as always

Feel free to share this with anyone, anywhere!

Entry to Old Spotted Dog Ground this weekend via Upton Lane entrance.
We hold a hygiene bank collection at all home games, with the collection box at the entrance.

However, recent games have seen few donations. That is probably people just forgetting, so here's a reminder for this weekend's games!

Our charity partners Magpie Project support mums and young children in temporary accommodation.

They need: Toothpaste; Toothbrush; Shower gel; Shampoo; Deodorant; Sanitary towel
Bike parking space is very limited inside the ground this weekend due to the building work on the extra toilet block.

If you can, please find a spot to park your bike before arriving or in the alleyway.
The venue for the Clapton CFC Men’s First Team cup final against Forest Hill Park has been changed.

The SCEFL Division One Cup final will now take place at Barking’s Mayesbrook Park ground.

The date and time remains as advertised – Saturday, May 10 at 2pm. Ticket and other details to follow in due course.

The final venue was double booked but fortunately three alternative grounds stepped up offering to host on the same day while another could host a Tuesday night cup final.

Our strong preference was to keep the game on the same date, not least because people have booked train and even plane tickets to attend.

At a league management committee meeting last night, the SCEFL opted for Barking on the original Saturday date.

Thanks to all involved for sorting this out and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at Barking.
