Yeah, that’s right, I’m a consooomer. I wasted my time watching Stranger Things Season 4 (or at least the 7 episodes that have already been released. Don’t bother with it.

OooooOooo there’s another Upside Down scary monster (named after a classic D&D villain, of course) murdering kids, the older folks are on a quest to rescue Hopper from the Commies, 11 is trying to get her superpowers back while half of the OG kids and new kids are on a pointless quest to find 11, and there are even more government bad guys and even MORE classic 1986 pop songs. You guys love that song Running Up that Hill, let’s play it 30 times over and over. Nostalgic!

There were 6 different storylines going on at once and 4 of them were either pointless and/or tried to undo the character development of the last season.

Plot twist from the last episode, the bad guy is a misanthropic, irredeemable bad guy.

Stranger Things should’ve been an anthology series but Netflix has to milk this cash cow for all of the money it’s worth

The evolution of Stranger Things is interesting. It was released in 2016 and kicked off an 80s retro merch fad.

I can’t fault Season 1 too much. I can’t find any faults with the actual content. It was a fresh 80s pastiche combining Stephen King horror tropes with Steven Spielberg schmaltz. Unfortunately, it created a lot of merch that cluttered Target stores everywhere.

Season 2: there were two garbage episodes and the monster didn’t have nearly as much of a mystique, it was lackluster but fine

Season 3: jumped the shark, the Commies built an underground interdimensional portal under a retro 80s mall and one of a kid’s brother gets possessed. It was so neon and retro, it made me gag

Season 4: you like the lore, here is extra lore, extra characters, extra storylines to follow, and a mess of a villain

Don’t watch past Season 2, in fact just watch Season 1. The 80s King/Spielberg nostalgia cow is done, long live the next Gen-X nostalgia cow. I doubt Gen-X will ever give up their toys
