This is an excellent essay on one of the causes of Wokeism - Civil Rights Law. Gets into how fear of racial discrimination/affirmative action lawsuits necessitated companies hiring a class of woke HR people who came to dominate culture of these companies.
This is a good case study of how cultural change is often downstream from elite drive structural change (Civil Rights law was extremely unpopular at the time it passed).
It is also an indictment of how useless conservative "culture war" bullshit is without legislative answers.

Hey everyone, Dr. Karlyn here. I’m against critical race theory but if you describe it as anti-white I’m going to slander you using leftist buzzwords. And yes, I voted for Buttigieg in 2020, why do you ask?

The Crowder vs. Ethan Klein / Sam Sedar debacle is instructive about the absolute state of online discourse as demanded by the people who watch YouTube. The unspoken rules about what people want and who “wins” debates. Crowder ran from a fight after his first interlocutor hid behind a pinch hitter. Because of that he “loses” but really if he had done anything else (including just insulting his guest) he would have “won”.
What bullshit is this? Everyone who does YT has people they don’t want to talk to. For example if the same thing happened to me with a debate crashed by a troll (let’s call him “el presidente”), the most rational thing would be to hang up and save everyone’s time since I have nothing to say to that person. But that would be “losing”. Instead however, I could just drop the debate subject and verbally abuse “el presidente” until he left thus “winning” but not advancing the dialectic.
Therefore by YT standards “boundaries + agree to disagree” = losing, “time wasting drama with no point” = winning.

Funny enough, I went into a livestream with Endeavour and some sperg host. The host ambushed Endeavour and I with “el presidente”. Endeavour and I immediately bailed as the host and “el presidente” laughed and jerked each other off

Words can’t describe how much I hate people like this.
Those who actually make campfires tend to be the most respectful people towards nature.
People who want to ban others from making fires because it might "hurt the environment" are themselves always neoliberal consumerist supporters of the techno-industrial system that don't blink an eye at deforestation if it results in more GDP from a new motorway or to build more houses for endless waves of migrants. They import avocadoes from across the world to eat on toast every day, and they’ll use all sorts of disposable plastic products and not think twice about where they’ll end up when they’re finished with them. They’ll use toxic chemicals in their bathrooms and kitchens and not care that they end up in the rivers and the sea. They would rather die than lose their lifestyles of comfort and consumerism.
So I’ll take no lectures from people like this on why my campfires are killing the earth.

How are people meant to be reasonable when they are exposed to 105,000 words each day? They can’t. We’re animals surfing over 34 gigs of information each day and picking out post-truth nuggets that we deem worthwhile

The Human Brain is Loaded Daily with 34 GB of Information - Tech 21 Century
This scientific study shows that our brain absorbs 34GB of information every day (I bet its even more in 2018-2019) leading to an information overload.
