This HUGE log "Oregon Forestry Building".
Was built for the "Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition" in 1905 to help promote the state which also included over 400 miles of electrified street car system from DC and AC power generated at Willamette Falls built in 1889-1895 at it's Station A over 40 miles away one of the first long distance power lines in the world.
The massive Exposition Center that was built torn down used for an industrial area but the Forestry Building stood until 1964 when it burnt down although there was next to it a Montgomery Wards Building built right in front of it in 1938

Dancing on the stump of a giant tree in California, 1876
In 1853, workers cut down a Giant Tree in a grove of giant sequoias in Northern Calaveras, California. The stump was 7.32 meters wide at the base, and ring counts showed it to be 1,244 years old.
