I remember when Kanye got aboard the Trump Train in 2018 and all of my College Republican friends started listening to Kanye’s Jesus is King album in 2019. Yeah, I listened to it. It’s a homunculi hybrid of gospel and avant garde rap. I thought it was awful then and I listened to it again today. It’s still awful

I found my grandfather’s copy A Child’s History of England by Charles Dickens (1853). It covers England from Ancient Rome to the Glorious Revolution. I read the chapters on Edward the 3rd, Richard the 2nd, and Henry the 5th. Dickens speaks simply to his audience of educated Victorian children but he is thorough and never insults their intelligence.
