Declan Rice OR Caicedo

Both players have been linked to Arsenal and Chelsea.

Chelsea Spending in Todd's era is well know and therefore purchasing these two in the same transfer window is next to impossible. So it begs the question which of this two would represent a better value for Money or which of the two you would rather have as a priority.

Let me be clear that have always been a Rice guy. But this is not about me but about what would be good for Chelsea.

While Declan has been hyped obviously by the English media, Caicedos EPL incoming and growth has certainly been water under a bridge.

Make no mistake all these two are good. But none of them is close to the figures being mentioned. But if it's a heist that's unavoidable, we'd rather go with Caicedo instead.

Here is why.

Both these two are good at shadowing the defensive unit through marking and tackling. Both are good readers of the game but both enjoy separate individual technical brilliance.

What sets Rice apart is his distribution. Pinpoint precise passes from midfield to attack is his biggest strength. This is not Caicedos cup of tea and something that can be over looked if you have good ball playing central defenders like we do

Caicedo would be more suited to how Potter wants to play. While he is good in ball winning, Caicedo is also a good box to box midfielder. His ball carrying through short compacted spaces is better. He may not be good at pinpoint long range passes but Caicedo decision making and accuracy is better than Rice when it comes to penetrative attacking passes.

While attacking, Caicedo is also better in helping team retain possession inside and around the opponents box.

While both are good in taking long range shots, Caicedo is better in getting into attacking positions inside the box. This, with how we play is great in terms of provision of attacking depth.

To say however that any of them is worth 100M is the greatest heist and money trick that was hoping Chelsea had left behind.

But by trying to push Rice rumours, Arsenal could just be getting Chelsea into panic mode buying. Deep inside them, especially with how Arteta plays, their best fit and ultimate target could be Caicedo instead.

Instead of Rice, both because of technical and financial aspects, and without emotions Todd should match whatever Arsenal bid would be for Caicedo instead. Whatever it is we are sure Arsenal may never do anything close to 100M.

Amadou Onana and The technical mathematics

With few days to the closure of transfer window, the other name being linked to chelsea is Evertons defensive midfielder Onana. Having been at Everton for a less than a season and largely unknown, He is only 21 yrs of age and certainly fits Todds of Profile. But what is his game?
.
Onana game is established as an Old fashioned Defensive midfilder. He primary plays as a defensive shield to protect the defensive unit and is technically less gifted than all of Enzo, Rice or Caicedo who we have also been linked with.

Onana has instinctive and good ball reading skills that coordinates his precise tackling. Combined with his mild aggresive tackling and aerial strength both in offensive and defensive phases, it is not hard to see why he is one of chelsea candidates.

Being technically average, Onana can be effectively paired in a double two with either of Kovacic or Zakaria who are less defensively astitute and aggresive to great effect.

Having signed qualities in defence and attack, Chelsea current concern is Central midfiled and right back cover. A deal for Enzo should be certain Chelsea priority. Paying through our noses for less inferior players should never be happening whether its my Money or Todds money.

This guy Onana is cheap but not inferior quality and would be as efficient central midfiled candidate. Would be My secondary target after Enzo both Financially and Sportswise.

Why?

Enzo is the almost total complete of the three..Rice strength is his long range distribution and his defensive abilities. .. caicedo is better in ball carrying and little better in tackling.... but in our books we have Kovacic and zakaria who are good with ball carrying though slightly inferior defensive abilities... So that alone should never be their selling point...Kante is all round but injury prone.... but looking deeper, its the type of forward players we have acquired that would make you rather have more defensive astitute midfielder than attack minded midfielder as the next purchase as they can do almost everything upfront on their own....

Both Joao and Mudryk also have the propensity to drop deep to initiate attacks as part of their game...Coupled with Reece, Chilwel and Cucu propensity to fly and join atttacks you'd rather have a defensively solid midfield pair instead.

The truth is Todd should adopt an Enzo or nothing mentality or substitute the fairly expensive Caicedo or Rice deals with cheaper and better alternatives to them...

Onana completely fits that profile. Having been at Everton for less than a season though, pulling that through could be another headache.
