Maximization of Ngolo

Arguably Ngolo and James are the most missed by chelsea whenever injury struck. We have continously struggled with defence cover and attack outlet from the right.

With talks of a contract renewal for Ngolo gathering pace, questions will keep on arising whether maintaining him or relieving him is the right thing to do.

If we keep the man then the coaching department must find a fielding soulution that would elongate his stay in the first eleven than the hospital bed.

What has killed this man is his work rate more than aggresion. But what burried the man is changing him from a defensive midfielder to a box to box midfielder. In a normal settings he works 150% but as a box to box the man has to work another 100% more.. 250 even for the most ardent workaholic will have a toll on the muscles.

By limiting his upfront duties and letting him rather be a sit-in defensive midfielder, chelsea could struck three birds with one stone.

First, the attacking players could concentrate further up the field, finding right positions and areas and saving energy to threaten attack.

Chelsea will also enjoy a tried and tested defensive cover that could allow kova or Zakaria flourish more in the ball holding box to box role with surerity of quality cover.

Third chelsea can maximize a year or two of Ngolo that could in the end facilitate Cheap or free transfer of Declan Rice as his replacement if other hawking clubs dont dive in early.

On his expected comeback soon and by adapting a good formation, chelsea could have concentrated attacks and stable defensive cover that could change our current form.

Felix, Pulisic, Ziyech could certainly enjoy less defensive works . This may just ressurect what was expected of them.

🚨 Both of these areas need massive improvement for Chelsea; we rarely score from our set pieces and concede too many set piece goals.
