To really maximise Joรฃo Fรฉlix, Chelsea would also need to find an athletic number 9 outlet in this transfer window. He needs a strikerโs runs to find ahead of him - heโs better at that than playing back to goal as a false 9 himself.

Joao Felix will help address our creativity concerns but these are the worries:
1. Do we need *another* positionless player?
2. Is ~ยฃ20m (fees + wages) a good investment for just 6 months?
3. What about his intensity?
4. What will he help us achieve in the league table?

CHELSEA ANALYSIS ๐๐ต
These constant briefings from Shakhtar to get Arsenal to pay more is quite something. Chelseaโs name, like often, being used to bump fees up. ๐
Mudryk clearly wants to join Arsenal, thereโs no doubt about it either but in this business, you never know...
Moving for Felix means Mudryk pursuit is off which i believe it wasn't even 'ON' in the first place. Was Shakhtar using our name to lure Arsenal?

1. 1/19 A small thread on Chelsea's current situation: If you look at the larger picture, we have been terrible in the league since 2017 with an average points tally of 68 points. Yes, we did qualify for the CL in 4 out of 5 seasons but it was a matter ofโฆ

Joao Felix- Hit or Miss?
Before we go any further down let me first declare that Joao Felix has never been close to the crazy amount Atletico paid. That was heist at its best and funny how we escaped that bullet at that time when we were known for calamitous hyped transfers.
Today, I still hold the same thoughts. But to assume also that He is a poor player is also another calamity.
Where People tend to make mistakes when analysing attacking players is looking at the goals and assists stats only. But there are other individual traits that contribute in the overall attacking play of a team.
Though slow sometimes, Joao would bring progression in our attacking play in a way Havert, Sterling, Rlc, Ziyech and halfway Pulisic cant.
People are being driven by emotion of loosing twice against city that that anything positive or negative will all look the same.
For chelsea, What we have been missing is someone who can Confidently Isolate defenders from defensive shapes and allow spaces for other team members. While Kovacic and Zakaria have been working to ensure progression from defence to midfield, we have failed to see the same composed transition and progression in attacking play. Havertz and RLC story of loosing possession and taking valued spaces and passes upfront is well known. Ziyech and Pulisic inconsistency and fraility is well documented.... Besides the running and work rate Mount has never been good with his close dribbling. What is worse is that all these people have mentioned cannot take an incisive pass or consistent shots.
While we have had "workrate" with Mount and Werner, We have lacked precision that would turn zero and half chances into goal scoring opportunities.
When you dont have a player that can confidently break team shapes and isolate defenders, the whole team will keep on recycling possesion in attack with useless passes from left to right and north to south like coackroaches. If you look at chelsea attacking play, ever since we sold Hazard, that's what we have been doing anytime teams have figured our play out. During all of Lampard, Tuchel and now Potter. The only player that we expected would do this is Pulisic. But we all know how that has gone
This Chelsea has been predictable to defend against as they would pass and pass until they even bore themselves out of matches.
While Joao is not my favourite cup of coffee nor the first I would prioritise, his technique, vision and flair would help chelsea with the dissection of opponents defensive shapes. His aggressive direct runs though Not close to what Murdyk can offer, is an upgrade to whatever we currently have and would go a long way in unsettling opponents.
He is also an aggressive streetwise type of player that would bring a die or cry kind of mentality we sorely miss with our attacking players.
Having him on a loan would also help uncommitt funds that could help with acquisation of either Enzo or Mudyk.
And if the guy cannot perform, there is that risk free loan deactivation option that we can always take. But at this time, with such a team, we'd rather have bronze in place of Gold than sand instead.

Marcus Thuram
Lets make it simple and straight.
If there is a player that buffles me why we keep on being linked to, its this guy Marcus Thuram
In a time when we are seeking serious strikers, its a shock to even consider this guy anything close to an elite. To me, he is just a low maintainance Lakaka that shouldnt come even closer to the chelsea development side.
Technically poor, Finishing at catastrophic levels, Poor shooting skills, Weird first touch, Zero positioning, Zero movements....
As much as we are seeking a new model of football, allowing ourselves to stoop this low and turn ourselves into another brighton or Southampton is the lower of the lowest
Is he better than Havertz? Abraham's? If he is not an upgrade what is he? Another half baked player? Don't we learn?

#4: Chances Creation / Vision / Decisions
Passing game, link-up play, and creation are mainly the things that occur to me in a negative way when looking at Marcus Thuram.
When he has the ball to his feet, he doesn't pass the ball to teammates who are in better positions.

When facing high-intensity teams, he enjoys penetrative passes, where he uses his explosiveness, and athleticism when running into space.
On the other hand, when facing low blocks, he's limited, especially with the fact that he barely tries outside the penalty area.
An issue.
Offsides :
In aspect , his awareness requires improvement and the same can also be seen in situations when he finds himself offside
This season, he has had 14 offsides in 15 league appearances. Has to work on timing his movements and on his awareness.

Conclusion:
Personally, I believe that the style of Marcus Thuram is less suited for top clubs, who face low blocks on a regular basis, due to his offensive patterns.
Therefore, I feel he may be beneficial for transition teams, such as Juventus, Roma, and Atlรฉtico de Madrid.

Arsen Zakharyan on Joao Felix's possible move to Chelsea
"What โฌ11m? It's a loan. We have already discussed everything with Felix. (Jokingly)
"He is on the left, and I am in the centre (laughing)".
