Yes yesterday hurt but lets look at where we are:
New manager, 3/5 of the starting back line injured, our best midfielder might as well be retired and the team's playing 3 games every 12 days.
This game is basically the 2-0 against Arsenal, when Luakaku and James scored, reversed. They also had their backline riddled with injuries.
City, Liverpool and Arsenal all backed their managers even when they were supposedly underachieving, it's time we do the same.
This rebuild will be rough, If you can't support us when we lose or draw, don't support us when we win.

Good morning to you all, Chelseaβs problem can't be solved with firing managers, Chelsea problem started since Roman appointed marina as our director, No talent ID, if we hire pep to work with this squad he will still have the same issue, Until we hire pep untill you guys will know managers is not the problem?. Either you have lot of patience or you keep crying every year after hiring another manager and fail to work out.

These were City's purchases in their first two years under new ownership. Lots of money, not enough sense and expertise - same as us.
We've learned from their initial mistakes and we've hired experts even sooner than they did. Now we wait for the results.

A Twitter thread from @CFCRobL
It makes me uneasy that people are pointing to previous seasons as an indication that Chelsea are massively underperforming when if anything, the past 4/5 seasons should serve as nothing but clear evidence of sustained regression.
The CL run was the exception not the standard.
Year after year, we've failed to address to the key issues around the squad yet are seemingly shocked when we encounter the exact same issues that plagued the seasons before.
We could always compete in one off games but we've never sustained anything of real substance.
I'd argue that with the exception of a couple of good signings, the only real bright spark has been the introduction of a number of academy players. I dread to think where we'd be without them yet many seem to want to point to them as the issue.
When was the last time you looked at this Chelsea side and saw a team that feels balanced between defence/attack?
When was the last time you saw a starting XI that didn't feature multiple square pegs in round holes?
All we've really done is stick more & more fingers in the dam.
So as disappointed I am with Potter's inititial approach, and I still stand by that he's underperforming, anyone looking at a change in manager as the solution is, in my opinion, missing the point
Nobody will come in and 'fix' this team and to be honest, you shouldn't want that.
This team has a ceiling, I don't think that's particularly deniable at this point.
The solution is to pick the strongest components and build something new with a higher ceiling, that's where I think Potter (and the other staff recruitment) will start to show their worth.

Rio Ferdinand on Arsenalβs win: βStill impressed, but it was not Chelseaβs first team. Kepa is the No.1 goalkeeper now. [Reece] James, Chilwell, Koulibaly, Fofana, Kante, thatβs 6 players who all start. It was their SECOND team, their B team. 6 starters didnβt start!β (BT)
