I think Chelsea are sticking with 3 at the back. Koundé and Koulibaly represent CBs who are perfect for the role. CBs who are capable of stepping into midfield with the ball, capable of breaking press and lines. They can play in a 4 too but they will cook more in a 3 atb.

🔜📝 Jules Koundè to Chelsea from Sevilla for €65M. Contract until 2027 (€9M/year). transfers CFC

The alternatives to Koundé are almost as big a step down as the alternatives to Raphinha as a final third creator. This is a make or break deal for Boehly. He can’t lose out on 2 ideal players for Tuchel’s system. It will make a title challenge vs City & LFC very, very difficult.

Without revealing your age, who was the very first footballer you loved? 🤔

ℹ️ @ChelseaAnalysis

To my own understanding, this does not mean he rejected us....

He maybe referring to Barcelona, because they have every chance to complete the deal before they went for raphinha and lewa.......

And from another point of few he may be referring to us also..
