are using a sort of 4-3-3 on-ball structure against Leeds United's 5-4-1 defensive block. I think the most interesting position has been occupied by Gusto, who's floating in midfield. I would prefer Estevao to have Gusto's role as Chelsea will have a better central threat. Further, the role enables Chelsea to have a potential 3v2 overload in midfield. I'd rather have Estevao create the +1 since, if he receives, he can produce more with the ball. Another preference for me would be having Chavarria focus on underlaps while Gittens initially keeps a wider starting position. It'll allow him to have more space to receive for a 1v1 and then cut inside, instead of having to secure the ball in tighter areas.

We've barely created with the ball since the dynamics haven't clicked yet. And that's because, in my opinion, we haven't seen the Chelsea players form connections yet. Think the Gusto-Estevao-Acheampong connection can especially improve if the Brazilian can have the more fluid role. Further, Barco and Chavarria need to support Gittens better on the left so that he can combine. Not good enough so far. 30 minutes played and Chelsea have produced 1 shot compared to Leeds' 8.

As much as @Chealsea have rotated, so have Leeds. This is on the players on the pitch. If you can’t make your mark against a rotated Leeds team then it’s embarrassing
